Don Covel Entertainment - Guitar lessons for Baby Boomers and beginners
I can help anyone learn to play the guitar or improve their skills no matter what they have tried in the past."
Don Covel - Instructor
Have you always wanted to play guitar but just could not seem to get started? Or, have you actually been playing for a while but cannot make any progress? Well, you are not alone.
The average player learns chords in the first position, plays a couple simple songs and a few licks, then usually stops playing or gives up out of frustration.
Most of us we need at 3 things in order to learn and make improvement on the guitar: s a few basic
- A game plan - Our famous "Quick Start" approach that includes an individualized learning program that you can apply daily to make fast progress
- An opportunity to perform - we provide monthly venues where you can see others perform then, when you are comfortable, perform with us before a friendly audience.
- Someone knowledgeable to show you how - with my 30 years of experience I can share knowledge with you to break out of your frustration and lift you to higher levels of playing.
At DCE Guitar School we provide all three.
We're easy
We also have flexible, convenient ways to help you make progress regardless of your experience or ability. For example:
- Lessons at your place or our studio.
- Lessons for couples and small groups (advantage: much lower cost per student)
- Learn your favorite songs. Using a mentor/student approach we identify the songs you like then include them in the lesson plan.
Break out of your rut... make progress quickly
At DCE Guitar School we teach songs you can play right away. We also use existing music books and supplemental (short cut) diagrams to augment your learning
Audio examples - we not only provide demonstrations and handout diagrams but also recordings of actual songs played at normal, and very slow speeds to enable you to hear every note played slowly. This process alone has proven to be one of the best ways our students make noticeable progress.
Also, it is important to know that there are many good guitar players but very few teachers. Being a good musician and a good teacher are two different skill sets... few can do both.
You need someone with the ability to inspire and convey knowledge in a supportive way. We have all had an experience with a phenomenal guitarist who dazzled you with their ability only to leave you confused--or worse--intimidated to ask questions and risk embarrassment. At DCE Guitar School we encourage and inspire you rather then just assign a lesson book and leave you on your own.
